Today (7th February), a glacier has burst in the Nandadevi range, leading to floods in the valley areas of Tapovan, Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Srinagar areas of Uttarakhand.

The current estimates indicate that more than 200 lives have been lost in the Tapovan area itself.

While the rescue operations are on, with our teammates on the ground, we are also coordinating for the immediate relief operations that would be needed immediately following the rescues.

Our internal estimates tell us that more than 150 villages are likely to be affected, with massive damage to houses, crops, livestock and infrastructure.
