Tripura Floods:
A Tragic Turmoil

Tripura has been devastated by relentless and unprecedented rainfall throughout August 2024, affecting all eight districts and bringing the state to its knees. The entire region is under a state of emergency as the torrential downpours have left a trail of destruction, causing widespread devastation and despair.

Rivers in these districts are overflowing beyond their danger marks, putting countless lives at risk and displacing communities.

As of now, the floods have claimed 26 lives, with over 17 lakh people, or more than 40% of the state’s population, displaced from their homes.

Crops have been destroyed, homes swept away, and vital infrastructure has been severely damaged across all districts, plunging the state into chaos and uncertainty

In light of this catastrophic situation, all schools, offices, and other institutions have been closed until further notice. The people of Tripura are in desperate need of relief and support as they face one of the darkest chapters in their history.
