Sewa Rickshaw Run 2019 |
“Let every deaf child speak” Grand flag-off by Brent Mayor Cllr Ernest Ezeajughi and Leader of the Council Cllr Asghar Butt launched Charity called Rickshaw Run 2019 by Sewa UK, with the support of 90 volunteers from the UK, America, Australia and India, travelled on 10th December 2500km across 5 states of India from Trivandrum in the South India’s state of Kerala to Ahmedabad in Gujarat raising funds for Deaf children’s charity Cochlea Pune. It was challenging task for overseas volunteers for 12 days driving between 100 to 270 kilometers each and every day in a rickshaw. This mega event was planned in perspective of 90 UK based NRIs, including 22 women to participate and ride rickshaws on 8th to 21st December from Kanyakumari to Ahmadabad. At the beginning of the journey 30 rickshaws from Atul Autos arrived in Trivandrum for seating arrangement of commuters. Finally it was a huge appreciation from Corporates joined hands together to sponsor in building a specialist centre in Pune, for hearing impairments and cochlea implants. |
