Organised Advanced Farmers Seminar in Uttarakhand |
Sewa International under its project Sewa Krishi that focuses on community based livelihood through farm and allied sectors, organised ‘Unnat Krishak Goshthi’ (advanced Farmers Seminar). The day remarkably saw 15 model farmers from different parts of Rudraprayag and Chamoli districts with an overall farming experience of nearly 400 years, coming together on a single platform to discuss the needs and possibilities in agriculture. We also had a team that included an agricultural scientist, coordinators, resource persons and a moderator to guide the conversation to a logical conclusion and analyse the interventions required. We concluded on a very positive note, where the farmers unanimously agreed upon taking the responsibility of creating a platform where the community cares and shares ideas, skills, tools and technologies. We also identified the activities that could be undertaken as per the specific area, their needs, patterns, brief sketch of actions and the timelines. It was decided to carve a proper strategy, based upon findings of the day that involves the sustainable community. |
