The Kalam Book Bank (KBB) is a new initiative by Akshar Bharati Sewa International to create a large book bank of college and competitive exam books. This unique book bank, by the students and for the students, will be set up in several colleges across India. Having worked for the past ten years setting up community libraries in several states in India, we noticed that a large number of college students cannot afford to buy expensive books required for their education. At the same time we also noticed that students from well-to-do families, keep old college books stacked in their cupboards for years after their education is over. These books can be used to help other students who may be struggling to meet education expenses. We plan to set up KBB teams that will coordinate with donors and colleges to facilitate the distribution of books to needy and deserving students. All donated books will be bar coded and distributed to colleges. Students will be allowed to check-out these books and keep them for the duration of their academic activity, following which the books will be recirculated and given to the next batch of students. A single set of books donated by you will help several students over the years. If you have college or competitive exam books that you no longer need, then we would like to urge you to register with the KBB team at Akshar Bharati Sewa International and help other students gain a better education. Please click on the button below to donate old college books that you are no longer using. Clicking on the button will open a pop-up window where you can enter your contact details and someone from Akshar Bharati Sewa International will connect with you soon. The KBB team at Akshar Bharati appreciates your generosity. |
