One day I heard that Govind jee from SEWA international is planning to roll-out a program for development of women’s. I was amazed that what will be the program and how it will it is help us to fulfill our daily needs. I have attended a meeting organized by SEWA. In the meeting we were informed that SEWA is planning to start a stitching centre for women in the village. Any women who will learn stitching, SEWA will ensure that she will get work every day. SEWA will help all of us in forming of Self Help Group in the village. Having work every day was only a dream for us. So with the other women’s I have also decided to join stitching center and learn stitching. I have learned stitching and started earning Rs. 3500-4000 in a month. After that I have joined Entrepreneurship Development Program and learned making handicraft products like mobile covers, hand bags, tote bags, shopping bags, evening bags etc. After 3 years working as members have given responsibility of unit In-charge of my unit. Now I am look after the quality of products made by unit and marketing strategies for these products. Currently, I am earning Rs 7000I- monthly. My family situation gradually improved with my income. Apart from monitory benefit engagement with SEWA has helped me to develop as confident women. |
