Boosting Immunity Through Herbs and Yoga:

In January 2021, in the lower Dibang Valley district of Arunachal Pradesh, a survey was conducted around the awareness of yoga and herbal medicines for the people there. The team of Sewa was warmly welcomed with folk dances performed by children. 5-day medical camps were also set up in all the respective villages along with women’s physiotherapy camps which were much appreciated by the elderly.

Initially, the participants were a little hesitant, but eventually, all of the participants came around and appreciated the initiative of promoting health through yoga and herbs. These camps were specifically arranged for the tribal community, adolescent girls, women and the elderly but 50 men also happily participated in the camps.

This activity was repeated in the month of March along with the valuable procurement of herbal plants. About 500 saplings of rare varieties of herbal medicines have been procured from Ayurveda Research Centre, Itanagar. The remaining are from different sources.
