3rd Knitting Center opened at Tapovan, Uttarakhand |
3rd “Sewa Path Knitting Centre” was opened last Friday, 25th Dec, 2015, at Tapovan, Chamoli district by Sewa International. This will serve to provide much needed help by empowering local women in Knitting Skills so as to self-sustain as well as make a living during non-farming days. There are 5 hand-knitting machines with 15 trainees to be trained in 3 batches of 5 women each. First session would begin from Jan, 2016. On the inauguration day, there was great enthusiasm shown by local women who were eagerly waiting for Knitting Centre to open. Centre Inauguration was done by the local Sarpanch, Shri. Harish Pant and our Knitting Centre Incharge, Smt. Pushpa Dhobal, with the great support from our Sewa Uttarakhand team. |
