“Swacch-Shikshit-Kushal Kashi” was started with the aim of reviving the dying hand-loom industry of Banaras and has evolved with multi-pronged holistic interventions in the fields of education, health, sanitation & agriculture. The weaver community is trained with latest developments in their field through  workshops conducted by Sewa International from time to time, their products branded and sold in exhibitions, their kids educated, and their locality made Open Defecation Free (ODF) through sponsored individual/community toilets. Farmers are given periodic trainings to improve their agricultural skills. Their children are provided education in various educational centers managed by Sewa International. The change is visible, positive and long lasting.

Tuition Centers

Sewa International has taken a significant step in uplifting unprivileged children under the project of Read India Read Kashi. This project provides education to 250 underprivileged children studying in class L.K.G to Vth. These deprived children are good at studies but struggling for education support as their parents or guardians cannot afford to educate them as they work as daily wage laborers in construction sites or farmers, carpenters etc. Our main motive was to encourage those children by providing them proper counseling through conversations about their future & interests and by telling them about the importance of education in one’s life. Our project aims to transform the lives of children through education and for that we must start with basic schooling. We have allotted 6 educational centers without any charge in local areas like Macchartta, Bagheli Tola, Jalahaiya Tola, Ratan Bagh, Bhitti, and Ayodhyapur, qualified teachers at each respective center with almost 40 students in each center.

School Kit Distribution Drives Ramnagar ( Kashi, UP) – Under its project READ INDIA READ KASHI, Sewa International distributed 320 free school kits, out of which 200 were donated by our donors from the middle east,  to the children throughout our 6 free Sewa Learning Centres in the area. A total of 1500 school kits were distributed in these places. The parents of these children also attended these events and were very happy to see their children taking a step towards their bright future. Our accomplishment and inspiration comes from the hundreds of warm, smiling happy faces that lit up on receiving this gift of education. Because of our generous donors now these children would experience the joy of reading and writing on a new notebook, playing with colours and their own creativity and also expanding the horizons of their imagination.

Nutrition Program For Children

Our tuition centres in #Kashi are filled with young, bright, beautiful minds and while we work towards their education, this time we took a step ahead and in our Rattan Bagh Bhiti Machhrahatta ward, we distributed seasonal fruits and milk products to the children. The milk products included flavoured curd, milk and other dairy products. The event took place throughout our 6 centres reaching out to 210 children. We hope that a habit of healthy eating, a conscious choice towards nutrition would lead to the holistic development of these children and go a long way in enhancing their mental faculties and physical strengths.
