Sewa International in the 30th Annual Dastkari Haat Craft Bazaar at Dilli Haat
Varanasi weaver, Ram Aasre prepared a stole with material worth Rs.700 and labour worth Rs. 300. It gets sent to Lakhpat in Kutch, where Farida Ben does embroidery worth Rs. 200.This final stole now get sold in Dilli Haat for Rs.1600. After adding transportation costs, total profit is shared between Farida Ben and Ram Aasre, obviating the intermediary and helping them get the worth for their talent.
This is the story of almost all of the Rs.1 lakhs worth textile products, based on “Kashi to Kutch” concept, sold by Sewa International in the 30th Annual Dastkari Haat Craft Bazaar held at Dilli Haat between 1st to 15th Jan,2016.
